Zuckerfee Cafe, Berlin
Zuckerfee translates to Sugar Plum Fairy in English and this small cosy cafe, tucked away in Greifenhagener Straße, just a stones throw away from Schönhauser Allee and Stargarder Straße, more than lives up to its name. Coming through the door, you instantly notice the warm and welcoming atmosphere – exactly what you need on a cold winter’s day.

The interior of Zuckerfee reminds us of Victorian England, it’s hence no surprise that you find Oscar Wilde resting on the bookshelf.

Food
Fresh waffles, outstanding cakes (we love the African milk cake), excellent coffees (this is one of the few places serving our favourite Spanish style Cortado) and a selection of teas including a half a page description of each if you’re interested. Zuckerfee offers some of the best breakfast options in the neighborhood and you are advised to book ahead if you’re visiting during the weekend.

Service
Genuinely friendly staff – something which can be hard to find in Berlin.

Price
The breakfast options will cost you around 7euros which is well worth the price and the coffees are fairly priced between 2-3euros.

Verdict
We cannot say enough good things about this place which is one of our favourites in the neighborhood. Don’t go there when you are on a diet, but do go for a lazy afternoon coffee break or weekend breakfast.
